Special Exhibition and Events Celebrating the 30th Anniversary of the Site of Reversible Destiny - Yoro
The Site of Reversible Destiny – Yoro marks its 30th anniversary this year. Conceived by artists and architects Shusaku Arakawa and Madeline Gins, the philosophy of “Reversible Destiny” rejects conventional values and systems, instead proposing a radical reimagining of life through the limitless potential of the human body.
As our dependence on material civilization reaches its limits, this philosophy gains renewed urgency and resonance. To mark this milestone, the site will present a special exhibition, performances, and community-based workshops—creating a festive space to awaken the imagination of a future grounded in life, the body, and our shared vitality.

「物質文明から生命文明へ」養老天命反転地30周年記念特別展示・イベント
養老天命反転地は本年、開園30周年を迎えます。荒川修作とマドリン・ギンズが生涯をかけて探究した「天命反転」とは、既存の価値観や制度にとらわれず、私たちの身体の持つ限りない可能性を通じて新たな生の在り方を模索する思想です。物質文明への依存が限界を迎える今日、その理念はより強い説得力を持ち始めています。この節目にあたり、本施設では特別展示やパフォーマンス、地域と連携したワークショップを通じて、身体と生命に根ざした未来への想像力を呼び起こす祝祭の場を創出します。みなさまぜひお立ち会いください。
